Adams Harbour, BC Daily Water Report — October 5, 2026

Adams Harbour is workable rather than wonderful today: sailing and boating get the best overall marks, but the water deserves a conservative read as a 1.3–1.6 m swell-driven sea keeps the harbour day from feeling truly easy. The most useful daytime window is around early afternoon, when waves are forecast to reach their minimum near 1.34 m around 2 PM and winds should remain closer to the day’s lighter range. That lines up reasonably well for boaters, sailors and paddlers, though the 6.5–6.6/10 boating and sailing scores are suitability estimates, not a green light to ignore conditions. Kayaking rates 6.2/10, helped by modest representative SSW wind near 6 knots, but open-water exposure and the cool 12.4 C surface temperature make this a dress-for-immersion day, not a casual splash-about. Fishing is middling at 5.8/10 despite two useful solunar major periods, 8:27–10:27 AM and 8:27–10:27 PM. The morning major overlaps the rise toward the 9:53 AM high tide; the evening one follows the 9:24 PM high. Pressure is rising from around 1017 hPa, but conditions are not especially settled: gusts are forecast to reach 25.9 knots around 8 PM. The late option therefore carries a much sharper wind tradeoff than the clock alone suggests. Visibility is only 1.1 km under complete cloud cover, with misty, damp-feeling air despite no representative rainfall amount. That is atmospheric visibility, not a read on underwater clarity. Diving scores 5.7/10, constrained by the cool water, waves and available clarity inputs. NOAA chlorophyll is very high at 11.65 mg/m³, indicating bloom conditions; it should not be treated as evidence of fish or wildlife activity. Wildlife’s 7.8/10 score is the day’s highest, supported by its model’s solunar, low-tide and wind factors. Compared with October 4, wind is lighter on the representative reading, while fishing and sailing scores have slipped; kayaking has improved notably from 4.5 to 6.2. Tuesday stays similarly lumpy with 1.4–1.7 m waves and a high rain chance. Wednesday looks lighter-winded, while Thursday and Friday trend rougher. Sunday currently offers the calmest marine outlook, with 0.9–1.3 m waves. Best bet: make an early-afternoon harbour outing the play, then be back in before the evening gusts start writing their own itinerary.
