Divers will find the surface nearly flat early, with underwater visibility likely best before the afternoon breeze stirs things up. The diving score of 8.2 matches the recent trend of 8.1 readings and reflects the combination of light wind and warm marine water near 31 degrees. Surfers, as usual this week, are stuck with a mediocre 4.5—those 2.55-second swell intervals from the south-southwest aren’t building anything ride-worthy. For wildlife watchers, the early outgoing tide and low wind make for decent shorebird and dolphin viewing along the flats, with a score of 7.2 that’s a step down from the 8.5 the past two days. That dip probably comes from the afternoon rain risk and increasing cloud cover. Looking ahead, Thursday holds similar wave heights but a rising chance of showers by midday. Friday looks rougher, with peak wind near 11 knots and a 73 percent rain probability, making the morning window even more precious. If you can push out today before lunch, you’ll find the flattest, most forgiving Apalachicola has offered in days.
