Sailing takes Eastport today, and it is not a close call. At 8.2 it is the only score that actually likes the northerly; kayaking sits at 4.3 and boating at 5.4, a clear step down from yesterday’s 7.5 boating and 5.5 kayaking when the wind was nearer 7 knots. Those numbers are suitability, not a safety stamp. Wind is the driver: a representative 13 knots from the north, ranging 5.4 to 13.6 through the day, with the strongest gust 27.2 knots around 10:00. Waves stay modest at 0.4 to 0.9 meters, calmest near midnight at 0.4 meters, with a short 3.55-second period and only 0.2 meters of easterly swell under 0.64-meter wind waves. That mix is workable under sail and only middling for surfing at 5.8; there is little period to work with. A 1.3 m/s current toward the south-southwest plus a large tide—5.17 meters at 05:35, a 0.66-meter low at 11:54, then 5.63 meters at 18:02—is the tradeoff small craft have to respect. Fishing holds at 5.8, unchanged from yesterday. Rising pressure near 1009 hPa and the two solunar majors, 07:26–09:26 and 19:26–21:26, are the better windows on the scoring; the morning major sits on the long ebb after the first high. Diving eases to 6.8 from the 7-plus run of recent days, with marine water at 14.5°C, about 1.8°C above average. Air runs a cool 13.8–18.3°C under a full overcast, feeling closer to 14°C, with no rain indicated and 19.4 km of atmospheric visibility, which says nothing about what you will see underwater. Wildlife slips to 5.5, the weakest reading in the past week, with the midday low and that north wind in the mix. Tomorrow still carries about 13 knots and a 25 percent rain chance. The 7th looks quieter: peak wind 8.3 knots, dry, and waves down to 0.1–0.2 meters, before rain chances climb again on the 9th and 10th. Best bet: go under sail, and give the 10:00 gust window a wide berth.
