Diving and fishing lead the pack, and if you’ve been waiting for a calm, clear window to get out on the water, this is it. The big story is glass-flat conditions. Waves are reported at zero all day, with a light southeast breeze averaging just two knots—far calmer than yesterday’s 4.6-knot average and a dramatic improvement over the bumpier 6.6-knot afternoon we had on the 22nd. That stillness, combined with an air temperature peaking near 32°C and water temperature sitting at 28.4°C, makes for some of the most pleasant surface conditions of late summer. Visibility is strong at nearly 29 kilometers, and with no rain in the forecast and cloud cover at 100%, you’ll want to be out before the afternoon haze thickens. For divers and snorkelers, the 8.4 score is tied with what we saw each day from the 23rd through the 26th, but today the wind is markedly lighter and the barometric pressure is falling slowly from 1013 hPa—classic conditions for stable water columns. The falling pressure might hint at a subtle shift by tomorrow, but for now, the water is warm and flat. The outgoing tide bottoms out at 9:26 AM, which often concentrates activity in shallows; the solunar major period from 10:26 AM to 12:26 PM overlaps nicely with that low slack. Fishing scores an 8.1, a solid step up from yesterday’s 7.9 and well above the 5.6 we saw on the 23rd. The major solunar window in the late morning is your best bet, but don’t overlook the evening minor period starting around 5 PM, which coincides with the low tide at 9:32 PM and a waxing gibbous moon that’s 98% illuminated. Moonrise comes at 6:29 PM, and with calm water and a dropping barometer, the late bite could be excellent. Boating and kayaking both score 8 and above, which is no surprise given the zero-wave forecast and gentle current at 0.6 m/s. Sailing scores a modest 4.6—there’s simply not enough wind to fill a sail consistently. Surfing sits at 4.5, which is identical to every day this week; with no swell and no wind waves, it’s a skip. Looking ahead, Friday through Tuesday keep that flat-wave pattern with zero swell, so don’t expect surf to wake up. Winds stay under 10 knots through the weekend, with a slight uptick possible by Tuesday.
